Lisa Remington Biography
Lisa Remington was born to Mary Kathleen Coombs Remington and David Newell Remington in Bellevue, Washington on May 22, 1979. Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, she is the youngest of three children. Remington graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2001 where she received her BFA in theater and gender studies, served as President of the Tisch Undergraduate Student Council, co-founded the Tisch Arts Showcase and was the student speaker at the 2001 Tisch School of the Arts Commencement.Remington was introduced to the world of documentary filmmaking and films for social justice by the late Robert Guenette while working for the non-profit Los Angeles Media & Education Center (LAMEC).Documentary projects include "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers" directed and produced by Robert Greenwald; "The Freedom Files: Season 2" produced in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Brave New Films; and Participant Media's documentary on the subject of nuclear weapons, produced by Lawrence Bender and directed by Lucy Walker.
Remington creates budgets and schedules for independent documentary projects in various stages of development. Past projects include: Brave New Foundations' online documentary series "In Their Boots," Brave New Films' "Meet the Bloggers;" and various documentary projects seeking ITVS finishing funds.Remington resides in Los Angeles.
